Asia Agri-Solar Summit
วิสุทธิ์ แช่มสะอาด ได้นำเสนอสถานการณ์ของประเทศไทยในหัวข้อ Regional Snapshot ในงาน Asia Agri-Solar Summit ภายใต้หัวข้อ “Innovative Energy Transition: Exploring Land, Agriculture, and Energy Synergy through Agrivoltaics” งานนี้จัดโดย Earth Sherpa และ Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) ในงาน Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026
Agrivoltaics
CASE (Clean, Affordable and Secure Energy for Southeast Asia)

SGtech Presents Thailand’s Agrivoltaics Landscape at the Asia Agri-Solar Summit
Following the field visit to NSTDA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prapita Thanarak and Assist. Prof. Dr. Wisut Chamsa-ard, presented Thailand’s country snapshot at the Asia Agri-Solar Summit on October 9, 2026. The summit, “Innovative Energy Transition: Exploring Land, Agriculture, and Energy Synergy through Agrivoltaics,” was organized by Earth Sherpa and the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) during Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026.
The summit brought together experts, researchers, policymakers, and project developers from Japan, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Pakistan, and several international organizations. Participants discussed what it would take to scale agrivoltaics in Asia over the next three to five years, focusing on policy, pilot projects, and finance. SGtech also took part in discussions with regional partners on future cooperation in agrisolar across Asia.
Why Agrivoltaics Matters
Agrivoltaics is the shared use of land for agriculture and photovoltaic (PV) power generation. It can provide farmers with an additional source of income, increase renewable generation close to where power is used, and improve land-use efficiency. These benefits depend on sound system design, including panel height, row spacing, and crop selection, as well as on involving farmers from the planning stage.
In 2024, SGtech and the Clean, Affordable and Secure Energy for Southeast Asia (CASE) program co-organized the Thailand Agrivoltaics Policy Recommendations Validation Forum, the country’s first structured policy dialogue on agrivoltaics. SGtech continues to conduct research and develop policy recommendations to support agrivoltaics suited to Thai farmers and communities.
